Postdoc in chromatin biology/ histone modifications (Berlin)

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in the lab of Ann Ehrenhofer-Murray, starting early 2015, funded by the DFG. The successful candidate will conduct competitive research on the dynamics of histone acetylation by the SAS-I complex in S. cerevisiae. The goal of the project is to determine the cell-cycle dependent turnover of H4 K16 acetylation and its dependence on histone chaperones on a genome-wide level. The group employs molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and genomics to study epigenetics and gene silencing in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The group is located at the Humboldt-University in central Berlin.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD degree or equivalent and have experience in molecular biology, molecular genetics and biochemistry. They should have at least one first author paper in an international peer-reviewed journal and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge in chromatin, epigenetics and epigenomics is a plus. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, creative and self-driven.

Salary is offered according to German employment rules (E13, full Postdoc position). The contract is offered for three years, starting in early 2015.
